Wenn die jetzige Finanzmarktkrise die größte seit 60 wahlweise 80 Jahren ist, wenn sie die erste ist, die das Finanzund Wirtschaftssystem der ganzen Welt an den Abgrund führte, dann will man doch genauer wissen, was die Massenmedien mit und aus dieser ‚Mutter aller Krisen‘ gemacht haben. Was haben die tagesaktuellen Leitmedien geleistet? Fünf Tageszeitungen, die Berichterstattung der ARD-„Tagesschau“ und -„Tagesthemen“ sowie die Meldungen der „Deutschen Presse-Agentur“ stehen im Mittelpunkt unserer Untersuchung. Fallstudien, eine Reihe von Interviews mit wichtigen Wirtschaftsjournalisten, ein Literaturbericht kommen hinzu. Was als Vorstudie geplant war, ist unter der Hand vielfältiger und vor allem ertragreicher geworden.

Structural change in the global textile and clothing industry has been marked by massive relocations of production over the last few decades, over the course of which millions of jobs have been lost in the industrialised countries and created in the developing countries. The liberalisation of the world textile and clothing market commenced with the end of the quota system in 2004. The question as to effective union representation of the primarily female employees has thus become more pressing than ever.

Der Strukturwandel der globalen Textil- und Bekleidungsindustrie war in den letzten Jahrzehnten durch massive Produktionsverlagerungen gekennzeichnet, in deren Verlauf Millionen Arbeitsplätze in den Industrieländern abgebaut und in Entwicklungsländern geschaffen worden sind. Mit dem Ende des Quotensystems im Jahr 2004 wurde die Liberalisierung des Welttextil- und Bekleidungsmarkts eingeleitet. Die Frage nach einer wirksamen Interessenvertretung der überwiegend weiblichen Beschäftigten stellt sich damit in neuer Schärfe.

Jelen tanulmány a Friedrich-Ebert-Alapitvány, az Európai Szakszervezeti Szövetség, az Otto Brenner Alapitvány és a Hans-Böckler-Alapitvány közös gondozásában jelenik meg. A közös munka egyrészt kifejezi a német, az európai és a nemzetközi munkásmozgalom értékei iránti egyetemes kötődést, másrészről a szakszervezeti munka megerősitése érdekében végzett sokéves és a kölcsönös bizalmon alapuló együttműködés eredménye. Jelenleg és a jövőben is legfontosabb célunk a munkavállói érdekek európai és nemzetközi szintű támogatása és erősitése.

Společnými vydavateli této studie jsou Nadace Friedricha Eberta, Evropský odborový institut, Nadace Otty Brennera a Nadace Hanse-Böcklera. Je to jednak projev sdílené sounáležitost s německým, evropským a mezinárodním dělnickým hnutím, ale i dlouholeté důvěryplné spolupráce zaměřené na posílení odborové práce. Našim ústředním cílem je a zůstává i nadále posunout kupředu zájmy zaměstnaných žen a mužů v Evropě a na celém světě.

Niniejsza praca została wydana wspólnie przez Fundację im. Friedricha Eberta, Europejski Instytut Związków Zawodowych, Fundację im. Ottona Brennera i Fundację im. Hansa Böcklera. Stanowi to wyraz zarówno wspólnej więzi z niemieckim, europejskim i międzynarodowym ruchem robotniczym, jak i długoletniej, pełnej zaufania współpracy na rzecz wzmocnienia pracy związkowej. Naszym głównym celem jest i będzie wspieranie interesów pracowniczych w Europie i na całym świecie.

The fact that this study has been jointly published by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, the European Trade Union Institute, the Otto Brenner Foundation and the Hans Böckler Foundation is in itself an expression of the solidarity that exists within the German, European and international labour movement. The study is the result of many years’ close collaboration and cooperation in supporting trade union work – our central concern, as always, being to promote the interests of employees in Europe and throughout the world.
